2nd panel debate of United Universities of Europe
“Vocations and Competencies in the Age of European Universities”
Part 1: Policy officers from four different University Alliances in four different countries describe their new positions: How does the need for international co-operation shape their professions? Which new skills do the need? Which special tasks and challenges have arisen? How do their new professions evolve? How do they think that they can make a difference?
Intermission: An interview on the Crelle market in Berlin: What is UUU? What is the objective of the UUU panel debates?
Part 2: Peter van der Hijden, independent policy advisor, speaks about the new kind of professionals that European University Alliances create. Eva Feichtner, vice president for internationalisation in Bremen, sees great chances in the university networks for academics and employers alike – creating a competitive international scientific education, as well as attractive career paths and staff journeys across the alliances. Jörg Niehoff, policy officer at the European Commission, will provide political context about role of higher education institutions in providing skills for the green and digital transformation, the EU transformation agenda for HEI, the experience from the Labour Market Relevance and Outcome partnerships and how all this translates into the context of the European University Alliances.
